Its opinion time again. Based in appearance, acting and trueness of character, which Mr. Darcy you like the best and why?
My favorite is Matthew Macfadyen. I love Colin Firth—the man gives me girlie-gasms, but Matthew’s brashness and depth melts my heart. *swoon*
Elliot Cowan played Mr. Darcy in "Lost in Austen". I didn't like the program so I'm not the best judge of his performance.
Your opinions will greatly help me and a few other writers with an upcoming project. Thanks in advance!
Cheers,
Tracy
Laurence Olivier
David Rintoul
Colin Firth
Matthew Macfadyen
Elliot Cowan
Does anyone know the name of the first guy?

This is hard, but I'm going to say Colin Firth.

Now, I've only seen P&P on film recently and just one so I'm no judge but I did love Matthew MacFayden and everytime I watch that movie I cry my eyes out. There are lines in there I plan on using for my wedding vows but I probably would like Laurence Olivier, he's some kind of smooth.

I absolutely love Pride and Prejudice therefore my opinion is biased lol...im LOVE Matt Mcfayden..his brash ways and brooding good looks brought a depth to Mr.Darcy that i loved...Colin Firth gives me goosebumps so he was also a good choice...

My mother would say Laurence Olivier all the way, and I can kinda see her point, but she's wrong. It's Matthew Macfadyen, definitely.

Colin Firth and Matthew Macfadyen are the best. If forced I'd say Matthew Macfadyen because he makes me cry every time. Colin doesn't. I didn't like Elliot Cowan. He was trying to act like Mr. Darcy. I've never seen the other actors.

David Rintoul!!! He has the sexiest voice..ummm Firth is like Michael Caine to me - same in all his films. Macfadyen just doesn't have the chemistry to be a leading 'love' interest. Cowan was just a bad choice. You know, thinking about it, perhaps I don't like the others as Darcy because I don't like the 'Elizabeth'.

Elliot Cowan didn't do it for me. I agree with Hazel, he was acting like Mr. Darcy.

Colin Firth, hands down. But I probably like him best because that production is truest to the book.

So I was going to say Colin Firth but I realized that my answer would have been biased because it was based on that fact that he was truest to the role and the whole production overall did the book some serious justice. However bias aside I would say Matthew Macfadyen
