What Do You Mean You Don’t Know Where to Look?

Okay you’ve never dated interracially before but you’ve been toying with the possibility for a long time. Maybe you just want to try something new. Maybe you find yourself growing curious about men or women of other races and want to give it a whirl. Maybe you’ve always been attracted to people outside of your race but were too afraid to act on it.

Whatever the case, never fear because Stacy is here! I am a black woman who has been into white men since she got out of diapers. I know the fear you experience when you decide to follow your heart. I know how some people have the ability to make you feel ashamed and guilty like having a preference outside of your own is the worst thing to ever do.

But chin up! Do not give negativity another thought. You have to be positive and make sure you want to date outside of your race because it’s what you feel in your heart and not for superficial or misguided reasons.

Let’s assume you’re absolutely sure you want to jump over the other side of the fence and test the waters. But you don’t know where to look or what kind of people to look for. Just calm down because that is what I am here for. Below are some kickass tips to jumpstart your world of interracial dating and let’s hope, true love.

1) Online Dating
I’d have to say that online dating is the best bet for those searching for interracial love. It is just too difficult to weed out who is into interracial dating outside of the internet. There are many popular sites for interracial dating. You can become a member of whatever site you choose by just filling out a profile and then the fun begins. Most sites have the options of communicating in forums, chat rooms, instant messenger, even by webcam. The possibilities are endless. But be aware that dating sites are not always free. If you are willing to part with the money to find the love of your life then go for it. But always use your best judgment and get to know someone before jumping in.

2) Find Love on Facebook
Say you don’t have a penny to your name or you’re just not comfortable with dating sites. Let’s be honest, going into an online dating forum is like walking into a room naked. You feel like everyone’s watching you. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea. You’re in luck! One of the best places to find love or at least to search for it is Facebook. Wait hold on. I mean it. Facebook is full of interracial groups for dating and socializing. I am a member of some myself. No matter who you are, or what you look for, there is a group or page on FB that will get you in touch with someone who is looking for the same thing. What’s so great about FB is that you can go straight to groups that fit you whether you’re a black woman looking for a white man or an Asian woman looking for a Hispanic man. There are tons of options. You can also start your own dating page or group and gather members. This would further help you in your own search. Another great thing is that you can put together interracial meet and greets with members in your local area!

3) Check Out Magazines and Sites that Focus on Interracial Relationships
Stay-in-the-know with sites and magazines geared toward interracial dating. You’ll find a list of resources for dating and many IR sites and magazines welcome personal ads for those looking for love. Another great resource is the articles provided by these sites and the many tips that will put you in the right direction.

4) Craigslist, Yahoo Personals and Match.com
These are perfect for interracial seekers to find others with common interests especially in their local area. These are popular interracial dating sites to get you started on your quest:

Interracial Oasis
Interracial Singles
Interracial Personals
BBW Interracial Personals

Before the Internet it was extremely hard for interracial couples to find that special someone. But online there are plenty of options. You should treat online dating the same you would treat dating outside the net. Never jump in too quickly and if you get a funny feeling that something is wrong about a person you’ve been corresponding with online, it might be best to walk away.

Love is not that hard to find if you know where to look. Be patient and put in the time to find true love. And have fun along the way!

Happy Interracial Love Everyone!
